Before a user reads a single word, they have already formed an impression from the shape of your letters. Typography sets tone, hierarchy and trust in the first second of contact.
Start with the job, not the font
A dashboard read at a glance needs different type from a long-form article. We define the reading context first: distance, density, device and duration.
- Pick one expressive display face and one hard-working text face.
- Build a modular scale and stick to it across breakpoints.
- Test at real sizes, on real screens, with real content.
Scale fluidly
Fixed breakpoints produce awkward in-between states. Clamp-based fluid type keeps rhythm intact from a 390px phone to a 1920px display.
Good typography is invisible. Great typography is unforgettable.
Our default pairing
On this site we pair Clash Display for headings with Satoshi for body copy, and use Playfair Display italics as an editorial accent.
